Premiered by Nirantar Yakthumba (Indian harmonium) and myself (live-electronics) at Studio LOOS – Zaal 3 SOUND ART FESTIVAL 2023

EVIL GAZE presents one aspect of our research with Nirantar: acoustic interactions between different spaces. The arbitrary scale of pitches played on the harmonium is picked up by the microphone at a different point in the room and fed back into the space through the speaker. This way, whichever frequencies are stronger at that point in the room will create sustained tones slightly different from the ones that Nirantar plays on the harmonium.
